I have always been fascinated with gothic architecture and have never really sat down to try and make it myself. So I finally did it.

Highly inspired by the museum piece Reliquary Shrine of Saint Barbara by Louis Marcy (Luigi Parmeggiani).
I found this amazing metal sculpting while browsing gothic architecture reference, trying to get an idea of what I could do in a small scale. This was the perfect piece to recreate in 3D and get an understanding of all the shapes. I did not make it an exact replica, I improvised a lot of my own designs into the decor, including adding a bell in the middle.

Entirely hand-modeled in Maya using curves and subdivision modeling. Then taken pieces of the structure into ZBrush to get those final details in, then finally baked and rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 4.

Hope you enjoy!
